Editor’s Note: Feb. 4, 2026 – This release was revised to include an additional label and update the label description to reflect this addition, incorporating the Canadian mark of inspection and export mark certification number for the affected product. WASHINGTON, Feb. 3, 2026 – Mays Chemical Company of Puerto Rico, located in Cataño, Puerto Rico, is recalling approximately 46,315 pounds of frozen, raw pork boneless loins that were not presented for import reinspection into the United States, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The following products are subject to recall [ view labels ]: Variable weight cardboard boxes bearing a Canadian mark of inspection with an export mark indicating “Cert. No. Cert 336662” and containing “FROZEN PORK LOIN,BONELESS, CENTER 520MM” in plastic liners. The products subject to recall bear Canada establishment “Canada 12” printed inside the Canadian mark of inspection on the label. The affected products were shipped to distributors, institutions, restaurants, and federal establishments for further processing in Puerto Rico. The problem was discovered during routine FSIS inspection activities. There have been no confirmed reports of illness due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an illness or injury should contact a healthcare provider. FSIS is concerned that some product may be available for use in restaurants, institutions, and other establishments. Any individual or entities who have purchased these products are urged not to consume or serve them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.
