CPSC, Apollo Presentation Products Announce Recall of Light Boxes
Reason for Recall / Hazard
The light boxes have loose wires and lack adequate grounding, presenting fire, electrocution and shock hazards to consumers.
Product Description & Identification
The recalled Apollo light boxes, used to view film, slides and transparencies, are models LB100, LB101, LB102 and LB110. The model number is located on a sticker affixed to the unit's side. The sticker also reads in part, "Portable Light Box...CSA." The light box consists of a white metal box, containing a fluorescent light, and a Plexiglas viewing plate that slides into two black metal guides on top of the metal box. The light box has a folding handle and tilt stand, and it can be wall mounted. The light boxes were sold in a box labeled in part, "APOLLO PRESENTATION PRODUCTS, GLOWPRO PORTABLE LIGHT BOX, Made in China." A photo of the product and the model number are on the box. Apollo light boxes that are marked with a UL logo are not part of this recall.
