Reason for Recall / Hazard

The top of the Manitou bicycle suspension fork, when fully compressed, may contact the front tire, resulting in a loss of control of the bicycle and presenting a fall hazard to a bicyclist.

The recall involves 2005 Manitou Nixon, Stance, and Sherman bicycle suspension forks installed on various high-end mountain bicycles. The Manitou bicycle suspension forks have the model names printed on the sides of the lower leg portions of the fork. Remedies › NameConsumers should check the back of the lower leg portion of the fork for a decal stating, "Tire Clearance Upgrade Installed". If absent, consumers should stop using the bicycle immediately and contact Answer to arrange for a free travel upgrade kit to be installed at no cost. Consumers should discard the old Owners' Manual and contact Answer to send a free Owners' Manual.
