Van Lang Foods Recalls Pork And Chicken Products Due To Misbranding And Undeclared Allergen

WASHINGTON, March 20, 2015 - Van Lang Foods, a Countryside, Ill. establishment, is recalling approximately 232 pounds of pork potstickers and chicken dim sum due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen, the U.S. Department of Agricultures Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The products contain egg, a known allergen which was not declared on the product label. The following products are subject to recall: [ View Labels (pdf only)] 12-oz. trays of Sid Wainer and Son Domaine de Provence Pork Potstickers 12-oz. trays of Sid Wainer and Son Domaine de Provence Chicken Dim Sum Although the products subject to recall were packaged in boxes that bear the establishment number P-18403 or EST 18403 inside the USDA Mark of Inspection, the consumer labels do not have the mark of inspection. The chicken dim sum was produced on November 11, 2014 and the pork potstickers on November 12, 2014. Both products were then shipped to a distributor for retail sales in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The missing USDA Mark of Inspection was initially discovered by FSIS personnel at a retail location during a routine inspection, with the undeclared allergen discovered later during FSIS investigative activities. FSIS and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
