(Nissan) is recalling certain JATCO transaxle assembly automatic transmission part numbers 31020X274D, 31020X275A, 3102MX274CRE, 3102MX275ARE, 3102MX275BRE, and 3102MX275DRE. An internal hardware failure within the control valve assembly's inhibitor switch may cause the instrument panel to improperly display the transmission gear shifter indicator. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 102, "Transmission Shift Lever Sequence, Starter Interlock, and Transmission Braking Effect."
