## What is The Recall File?

The Recall File (therecallfile.com) aggregates official product recall notices from government regulatory agencies across 6 countries into a single, searchable interface. It covers over 72,000 recall records spanning food & beverages, vehicles & automotive, drugs & medicine, medical devices, and consumer products.

The database is sourced exclusively from authoritative government agencies:
- United States: FDA (food, drugs, devices), CPSC (consumer products), NHTSA (vehicles), USDA FSIS (meat/poultry)
- United Kingdom: Food Standards Agency (FSA)
- Canada: Health Canada
- France: RappelConso
- Germany: BVL (Bundesamt für Verbraucherschutz)
- Australia: ACCC Product Safety, FSANZ (food)

All data is normalized, deduplicated, and linked back to the official source for verification.

The Recall File does not create or modify recall information — all data originates from official government sources and links back to primary sources.

The Recall File is free to use with no account required. All recall data is publicly available via the web interface. An API is not currently offered publicly.
